Drew dedicated his undergraduate studies to Biology and Pre-Optometry at University of Missouri-St. Louis. He received his Doctorate of Optometry degree and Pierre Laclede Honors College degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in the Spring of 2018. During his training he has completed specialty contact lens fitting including gas permeable and scleral lenses, myopia control, pediatric and vision therapy exams, ocular disease, and primary care.
During his employment at Unger Eye Care, Drew has been instrumental in developing the scribe position that has proven to be invaluable in helping the doctors deliver personal, efficient care for their patients in the exam room.
He remains active in his profession through various organizations including the Advancement of Independent Optometry, American Student Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Student Association, and Volunteers for Optometric Service to Humanity.
A native of Troy, IL, Drew attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and Triad High School. He married Taylor Smith in 2016 and they enjoy riding bikes and playing tennis.
